With its numerous wildlife reserves and its border along Teal Pond, Topsfield is the picturesque dream location for anyone looking for real estate in a verdant, tree-filled environment. Whether you are looking for a large estate, a home large enough for your family, a small condo or town home, or an apartment, you are sure to find the perfect place amongst the many beautiful pieces of Topsfield MA real estate.
Topsfield is one of the oldest towns in New England. The town is exceptionally proud of its role in history, from its founding by Protestant pilgrims, to its role in the Revolution and Civil War. Because of its pride in its history, the town of Topsfield features numerous historic homes that have been kept in excellent condition. Topsfield also boasts some of the most elite real estate in the country, with several million-dollar homes with sweeping views and sprawling property. The town is also on the highest land in Essex County, meaning that excellent views are common in most real estate of the area. The views themselves are stunning, taking in the local wildlife reserves and state parks, as well as the beautiful blue water of Teal Pond to the east. With Topsfield’s convenient location just twenty miles north of Boston, the town is ideal for commuters with families who want to get away from the crime and pollution that accompany big city living. With the I-95 being easily accessible from most parts of Topsfield, the commute to Boston is easy and fast, making the town perfect both for people working in the city and people who enjoy visiting Boston for its shopping or nightlife.
Topsfield’s school district is another reason to make Topsfield your new home. The school district there is second only to that of the town of Harvard. Topsfield boasts two elementary schools that fall under the city’s own school committee: Steward Elementary and Proctor Elementary. Steward Elementary enrolls children in grades K-3, while Proctor enrolls students in grades 4-6. This division of elementary grades between the two schools is part of what keeps the student to teacher ratio at these schools some of the lowest in the state; plus, it also allows each school to be more personalized to what the younger and older elementary school students need. After completing elementary school, Topsfield students move on to Masconomet Regional Middle School, then Masconomet Regional High School. These two schools serve students from the neighboring towns of Topsfield, Boxford, and Middleton. These schools have a high standard of academics with strong support from the largely educated community, giving Topsfield residents yet another reason to love living in this picturesque town.
Topsfield also boasts a wide variety of activities, including the famous Topsfield Fair. The Topsfield Fair is the oldest annual fair in the nation. Though it originally started as merely an opportunity for the local farmers to showcase their crops and livestock, it has now expanded into a fun and lively event for the entire family, with carnival rides, face painting, and more! Topsfield also hosts an annual Strawberry Festival, where you can find fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and shortcake. More importantly, the Strawberry Festival provides a great way for new residents to get involved with the many clubs and organizations in the area, all of which are available to explain their club and get people involved.
